DownloadTHE CRAFT
For the third vintage of this Cabernet Sauvignon, winemaker Bob Blue selected fruit from renowned Cabernet regions throughout the North and Central Coasts, including San Luis Obispo, Livermore, Mendocino, Paso Robles, and Lodi counties. This Prospectors’ Proof Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in traditional French and American oak, with a portion finished in charred bourbon barrels before the final blend was assembled.
THE WINE
Full-flavored and bold, Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect wine for our unique ageing process. Classic Cabernet Sauvignon flavors of cherries and currant are complimented by notes of burnt sugar, vanilla, dried herbs and a touch of smokiness that comes from time aged in used bourbon barrels. The result is a wine that is layered, complex and powerful, exhibiting the pioneering spirit that 1,000 Stories wines are known for.

This unique barrel aging process gave to this wine its hints of burnt sugar, vanilla, dried herbs, and even a touch of smokiness.
